The second big thing today was the food – Goat BBQ. Here in Tanzania they\u00a0love<\/em> meat, and especially goat, so for the occasion I had bought them one. That in itself is an adventure for me! One of our neighbours, Dickie, came to execute the slaughter and cooking, together with Mama Godi, who also lives with Caroline and the kids – a wonder of a woman: always calm, kind and patient with a natural authority that could make \u00a0any teacher green with envy. \u00a0She cooks, cleans, helps out where need be. I tell you, in my opinion she is one of the reasons the center runs so smoothly. Never irritated, never needs to raise her voice.<\/p>\n The third big thing today was the arrival of Charlotte Lindqvist and her family. Charlotte founded Econef together with Caroline is one of the driving forces behind this organisation. The kids\u00a0love\u00a0<\/em> her and have been asking for\u00a0days:<\/em> ”When is Charlotte coming? \u00a0When? Where is she now?” Finally, she arrived – they flocked around her and hugged like they hadn’t seen her in years! The party could begin.<\/p>\n Here’s how to make a Goat BBQ:<\/p>\n 1 – Buy a goat.<\/p>\n 2- Invite all your friends.<\/p>\n 3- Find a neighbour to execute the slaughter and cooking so all is done correctly.<\/p>\n 4 –\u00a0Bring out the charcoal.<\/p>\n 5 – Dig a hole in the ground.<\/p>\n \u00a0 7 – Fill the hole with choals and light a match to them.<\/p>\n 8 – Medan gl\u00f6den blir varm: stycka k\u00f6ttet – spara grytbitar till Pilau som ska kokas \u00f6ver elden. Ta vara p\u00e5 allt: hals, lever, njurar…l\u00e5t inget g\u00e5 till spillo.<\/p>\n Mama Godi and Kevin (Carolines son)\u00a0cutting meat for the pilau.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n Ready for BBQ<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n 9 -While the meat os on the BBQ, make a Pilau: rice, oil, salt, vegetables and meat.<\/p>\n Mama Godi makes Pilau<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n 10 – While the food is cooking – hang out, chat, enjoy the shade.<\/p>\n \u00a011 – Grill vegetables for the vegetarians (we deeply appreciate it!).<\/p>\n 12 –\u00a0N\u00e4r maten \u00e4r klar, tv\u00e4tta h\u00e4nderna och kalla alla till bords.<\/p>\n 13 – Eat!<\/p>\n All of a sudden, the kids went completely quiet – focused on the eating. There was not a scrap left!<\/p><\/div><\/p>\n Hopefully your guests will have brought some amazing chocolate cakes and plenty of fruits to complete the meal.
